28% of staff plan to skip work after the F1 Singapore Grand Prix

Prepare for a productivity pit stop over the F1 weekend, as employees admit they intend to party late, get drunk, and miss work.

In fact, your staff are so keen to watch the races, celebrity-spot and stay out all night that they've happily admitted they plan to take next Monday off so they can enjoy a fun-filled Sunday night.

According to data collected from marketing staff across Singapore by font, 56% expect to have a late night on Sunday. Twenty-eight per cent are also planning to take time off work to attend the event - and they admit this will affect their productivity.

The biggest reason for their productivity pit stop? Alcohol.

Yep, 39% say late and boozy nights will stop them from starting their engines again on Monday.

"Like it or not, many marketers will be out late at the biggest event of the year," says Anna Clark-Hall, Singapore country manager at font.

"Company leaders can minimise work disruptions by offering flexible work arrangements the day after the event, stocking the pantry with isotonic drinks and recovery foods, or even starting the work day later across the office."

With the Formula 1 races recognised globally as one of the biggest sporting events of year, the survey also identified the top reasons for attendance.

The race itself is the reason most staff will be attending (40%), followed by networking opportunities (24%) and partying (17%).
