Kelantan declares 19 March 2026 a public holiday ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri

The move is aimed at helping to reduce traffic congestion in the festive period, and allow residents more time for the festival preparations.

The state government of Kelantan has declared 19 March 2026 (Thursday), a public holiday for the entire state in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year.

The announcement was made by Ustaz Dato’ Haji Mohd Nassuruddin Haji Daud, Chief Minister of Kelantan, in a media statement.

According to the statement, the holiday falls on 29 Ramadan 1447H and is intended to allow residents more time to prepare for the upcoming celebrations. The move is also aimed at helping to reduce traffic congestion as people travel back to their hometowns ahead of the festive season.

As Malaysians prepare for one of the country’s most significant festivals, the extra holiday comes in hopes that residents in Kelantan can begin the celebrations with greater ease and spend more meaningful time with family.
