1.54m Singaporeans to get GST vouchers and Medisave top-ups

MOF (Ministry of Finance Singapore) recently announced that up to $890 million of GST vouchers (GSTV) and Medisave top-ups will be distributed to 1.54 million eligible Singaporeans in 2016.

About 1.3 million eligible Singaporeans will receive up to $300 in GSTV in cash, as well a cash special payment, a one-off GSTV, of up to $200.

These will be disbursed in two payments during August and November 2016.

Additionally, about 425,000 Singaporeans aged 65 years and above will receive a GSTV in the form of Medisave of up to $450 in August 2016.

Pioneers will receive their Pioneer Generation (PG) Medisave top-ups of $200 to $800 in July 2016. Singaporeans who were born on or before 31 December 1959 and do not receive PG benefits will receive a Medisave top-up of up to $200 each year till 2018.

Eligible citizens will receive notification letters of their 2016 GST Vouchers (GSTV) by 1st July 2016.

  • Singaporeans aged 21 years and above, with an annual value of up to $13,000 and above of their home, are eligible for the GST vouchers.
  • Members of the Pioneer Generation (born 1945 or earlier) and Singapore Citizens born in 1959 and earlier who are not Pioneers who own up to $13,000 or own more than 1 property are eligible for Additional Medisave top-ups.
