Winning Secrets: Datapro Computer Systems' story of turning a cultural challenge into a shared movement towards wellbeing

By shifting the narrative from an HR‑led initiative to a shared identity, the team bridged divides across generations, functions, and geographies – proving that true engagement is born when people lead with purpose.

For Datapro Computer Systems (DCS), the most significant hurdle in its wellbeing journey was never logistical – it was cultural. With employees spread across locations, job functions, and generations, the question was simple yet profound: how do we build unity around something as personal as wellbeing?

DCS answered by breaking down barriers and reimagining access. Hybrid engagement became the bridge that connected every branch and every individual in a shared experience. But the real shift happened when wellbeing moved beyond an HR-driven agenda and became a collective mission. Employees were empowered not just to participate, but to lead.

What emerged was more than a programme – it was a bottom-up movement. A movement defined by pride, ownership, and a shared identity rooted in wellbeing. And in that transformation lies DCS’ winning mindset: that culture changes when people see themselves not as attendees, but as co-creators of the journey.

In this interview, we speak with Nathakrita Skulchunnabhata, Deputy Managing Director - HR, Datapro Computer Systems to understand how a cultural movement became an award-winning milestone – securing a bronze win for 'Excellence in Corporate Wellness 'at the HR Excellence Awards 2025, Thailand.

Q Tell us about your inspiring HR initiative – what sparked the idea, and how did you know it was the right path to take?

The inspiration behind 'Happy Wellbeing' was deeply rooted in our Premier Group philosophy — 'Harmonious alignment of success', where business, people, and society grow together in balance. At DCS, we’ve always believed that our people are the heartbeat of everything we do.

We didn’t set out to create just another wellness programme. We set out to build a strategic culture framework that empowers individuals, strengthens teams, and enriches our community. By focusing on physical health, mental wellness, financial security, and lifelong learning, we designed an ecosystem that nurtures the whole person — not just the employee.

We knew this was the right path when employees didn’t just join the initiative — they owned it. That alignment between leadership vision and employee energy is exactly what Harmonious Alignment is about: shared purpose that fuels sustainable success.

Q Every journey has its ups and downs – can you share a challenge your team faced and how you worked through it together?

Our biggest challenge wasn’t just logistical — it was cultural. How do you build a sense of unity across locations, across job functions, and across generations? How do you make wellbeing something that people don’t just attend, but believe in?

We tackled this head-on by breaking down barriers and creating access for everyone. Hybrid engagement became our bridge — connecting every branch and every employee in one shared experience.

But more importantly, we shifted the narrative from 'HR initiative' to 'Our initiative'. We empowered employees to lead, not just follow.

This collective ownership turned challenges into opportunities for innovation. Instead of a top-down project, we created a bottom-up movement — a movement where people felt proud to contribute. That’s when wellbeing stopped being an activity and became a shared identity.

Q What impact has this initiative had on your organisation so far, and what do you hope it inspires in the wider HR community?

The results have been remarkable. Participation exceeded 50%, employee satisfaction reached 90%, and turnover remained far below industry levels. But what matters most is that our culture has shifted from activity-based to purpose-driven. Through this initiative, people experienced firsthand what 'Harmonious alignment of success' looks like in practice:

  • Business benefited from higher productivity, stronger engagement, and retention.
  • People felt valued, empowered, and connected to something bigger.
  • Society benefited as we sparked hope and created sustainable impact through education, nutrition, and inspiration.

For the HR community, we hope this becomes proof that wellbeing isn’t just about wellness programmes — it’s about creating shared purpose. When business goals and human aspirations align, organisations stop competing on benefits — and start standing out through culture. That’s how employer brands are truly built: from the inside out.

Q Looking back, is there a moment, person, or value that kept you and your team motivated throughout the journey?

What truly kept us moving forward was a shared belief — the understanding that we were not just running an HR programme, but shaping a sustainable culture for the future. From the outset, this initiative was never about short-term engagement; it was about creating something lasting, something that would outlive campaigns and echo through how we work, connect, and grow together.

The motivation came from seeing how collective purpose can transform energy into momentum. Every conversation, every milestone, and every team effort reminded us that real cultural shifts don’t require constant push — they thrive when people see themselves as part of something bigger.

This clarity gave us resilience. It wasn’t about keeping enthusiasm alive; it was about building a sustainable movement that fuels itself through shared purpose and long-term vision.

Q If you could offer one golden nugget of wisdom to HR professionals aiming for excellence, what would it be?

Our role is not just to respond to change, but to create it with purpose and courage. The most impactful HR strategies are born when we move beyond programmes and policies — and dare to design cultures that are sustainable, human-centered, and future-ready.

Don’t just aim to build great workplaces. Aim to build organisations that inspire people to become their best selves, where wellbeing and innovation coexist. When people feel genuinely valued, they don’t just contribute — they ignite transformation.

HR excellence isn’t about perfection; it’s about leading movements that make businesses stronger, communities better, and the future brighter. That’s the real power of modern HR leadership.
