Winners and photos: HR Vendors of the Year 2017, Malaysia

At the Malaysia edition of the HR Vendors of the Year awards 2017, held on 16 November 2017, the brightest HR solutions innovators in their respective fields were honoured in the company of more than 230 attendees. [Full list of winners]

Organised by Human Resources and produced by Heather Ang, the HR Vendors of the Year is the biggest HR vendors awards in Asia, held in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, with the Malaysia edition of the gala hosted at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, with the support of silver sponsor SIRVA.

What makes the HR Vendors of the Year Awards unique is its two-tier selection process whereby judging for each of the close to 150 entries across 27 categories was done by an esteemed jury of 22 senior regional heads of HR from organisations across Asia. [Photos from the awards]

Among the recruitment firms, EPS Consultants Malaysia emerged top and was crowned the Best Overall Recruitment Firm. 

Leading up to this win, the recruitment firm bagged the gold for the Best Recruitment Firm - Non-management roles (under RM8k per month) category - where silver went to Kelly Services and bronze to QuessGlobal Malaysia. Additionally, EPS Consultants Malaysia took the silver award in the categories of Best Recruitment Firm – Mid-management roles (RM8k-RM15k per month) [gold went to Search Personnel and bronze to Spring Professional (Malaysia)], and Best Recruitment Firm – Senior management roles (over RM15k per month) [Bo Le Associates walked away with the gold while CAREER CHANNEL took the bronze].

With digital a big priority for organisations today, it’s no surprise that such recruitment saw some strong nominees in the Best Recruitment Portal category, with JobStreet.com clinching the gold award, Kossle (SarawakJobs.com) bagging the silver, and Spring Professional (Malaysia) securing bronze. [Full list of winners]

Another aspect of recruitment is candidate assessment, where the winners of the Best Psychometric Testing Provider came in, to ensure organisations are getting the best fit candidate. PEOPLE PSYENCE captivated the judges, taking home the gold award, while Thomas International was awarded silver, and StrengthsAsia bagged bronze. 

Even before ensuring the best fit candidate is hired, thorough background checks are a must to safeguard against unscrupulous candidates. This is where HR professionals can rely on the winners of the Best Background Screening Provider category - Verity Intelligence (gold), Sterling Talent Solutions (silver), and The Learning MatchMaker (bronze). [Photos from the awards]

With the sheer amount of applications coming in daily, to prevent recruiters from being overwhelmed, HR professionals can rely on the winners of the Best Applicant Tracking Software. Accendo HR Solutions excelled in this area, landing the gold award while IBM and SAP SuccessFactors took home the silver and bronze respectively.

SAP SuccessFactors was also commended on its top-notch HRMS, scooping up the gold award in the Best HR Management System category, while Ramco Systems and iTalent clinched silver and bronze respectively.

Another area in which SAP SuccessFactors excelled in was the Best IT Training Provider category, where it bagged the gold trophy, and PEOPLElogy Development secured silver and TMI Consultancy took home bronze. [Photos from the awards]

Bronze winner TMI Consultancy was also recognised for its excellence in employer branding and was awarded the bronze trophy in the Best Employer Branding Consultant category, where ICONIX Consulting and Leaderonomics clinched gold and silver respectively.

Another win for TMI Consultancy came when its digital learning arm, TMI Consultancy - Elementrix, was awarded the gold in the Best E-Learning and Mobile Learning Provider category while Soco Sales Training walked away with silver and Leaderonomics with bronze.

Adding to Leaderonomics’ wins for the night was a gold award in the Best Leadership Development Consultant category where Scotwork Asia and ZUBEDY scooped up silver and bronze respectively. Meanwhile, Scotwork Asia also proved its dominance in sales training, securing the silver award in the Best Sales Training Provider category. In this area, Think Codex emerged top, clinching the gold award while Soco Sales Training took the bronze.

Think Codex also caught the jury’s eye when it came to team building and was awarded gold in the Best Team Building Training Provider category while 95% Corporate Culture Consultants and Dynamic Team Holdings were awarded silver and bronze respectively. [Photos from the awards]

Silver winner 95% Corporate Culture Consultants was also recognised for its great work in employee engagement, clinching silver trophies in the categories of Best Employee Engagement Consultant (where gold was awarded to Mercer and bronze to Willis Towers Watson) and Best Employee Engagement Solution Provider (where gold went to Virgin Pulse and bronze to REWARDZ). 

Another area in which Virgin Pulse and REWARDZ stood out is the Best Corporate Wellness Provider category, where they were awarded the gold and silver trophies respectively, while C.H.I FITNESS was awarded bronze. While on the top of rewards and benefits, in the Best Remuneration Consultant category, Mercer won gold. Willis Towers Watson bagged the silver trophy, while Bo Le Associates snapped up the bronze.

In the field of payroll, ADP stood out to secure gold in the Best Payroll Outsourcing Partner category (where silver went to i-HR Consulting and bronze to Payroll2U). ADP also took home silver honours in the Best Payroll Software category while Ramco Systems walked away with gold and Unit4 Asia Pacific with bronze.

Unit4 Asia Pacific was further recognised for its innovative software, securing silver in the Best Talent Management Software category (where iTalent won the gold trophy and Lumesse bronze).

Moving on to the area of mobility, Crown World Mobility was deemed the best in judges’ eyes, securing gold for both Best Mobility & Orientation Consultant category (where SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving and Santa Fe Relocation took silver and bronze trophies respectively). Crown also took home the goldware for the Best Relocation Company category (where AGS Worldwide Movers secured silver and Santa Fe Relocation bagged bronze). 

Some of the other companies that made a significant impact on the jury included Corporate Outsource Services (COSSB), KPJ Healthcare, and Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) which walked away with the gold, silver, and bronze awards respectively in the category of Best Corporate Healthcare Provider. Moreover, The Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre, People Potential, and K-PINTAR secured the gold, silver, and bronze awards respectively in the category of Best Management Training Provider. In the category of Best Recruitment Process Outsourcing Partner, KellyOCG, Resource Solutions, and Randstad Sourceright took home the gold, silver, and bronze awards respectively.
