Effective 1 June 2024, visitors from 63 countries and regions entering Malaysia will be eligible to utilise the autogates for immigration clearance, according to Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia's Facebook post.
This upgrade comes after Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced on 16 May 2024 (Thursday) that 36 countries and regions were eligible for immigration clearance at the time, which was an increase from just 10 in February 2023.
Per an article by The Star, Datuk Seri Saifuddin said that travellers from countries and regions considered as "low risk" would be permitted to use the autogate for a smoother immigration clearing process.
Here is a timeline of the countries that were eligible for Malaysia's autogate facilities, as of February 2023:

- Brunei
- Germany
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Saudi Arabia
- Singapore
- South Korea
- United States
- United Kingdom
As of 16 May 2024, 26 more countries have been added to the list:
