Visa-free travel to the Philippines now available for Indian tourists

Starting 8 June 2025, Indian nationals can enter the Philippines without a visa for tourism. Depending on visa or residence status in selected countries, travellers may stay for up to 14 or 30 days.

In a move to strengthen tourism ties, the Philippine Government has officially granted visa-free entry to Indian nationals for short-term visits, starting 8 June 2025 (Sunday). As announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the new policy offers two key options for Indian travellers entering the country for tourism purposes.

Indian passport holders can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days, strictly for tourism purposes. This stay is non-extendible and non-convertible to other types of visas. To be eligible, travellers must meet the following conditions:

  • Passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay
  • Confirmed hotel accommodation or booking
  • Proof of financial capacity
  • Return or onward ticket to another destination

Meanwhile, those holding valid and current visas or residence permits from the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen, Singapore, or the UK (collectively referred to as AJACSSUK) are granted a longer, 30-day visa-free entry. This also requires a passport that is valid for at least six months and a return or onward ticket, with the same non-extendible and non-convertible conditions.

The DFA stated that these visa-free privileges may be availed of at any Philippine port of entry and are limited to tourism purposes. They are not convertible to visa-based stays or other admission status categories. Indian nationals must also have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to be eligible for visa-free entry.

Indian nationals who are transiting through the Philippines or entering the country for long-term visits or non-tourism activities, are required to apply for an appropriate Philippine visa. This must be done at a Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin, place of legal residence, or any country that requires entry visas for Indian nationals.

Those who are eligible for an e-Visa may apply through the official Philippine e-Visa website at evisa.gov.ph. The DFA reminds the public that e-Visas cannot be extended or converted to other types of stay or visa categories.
