Up the ranks: SingPost welcomes Sehr Ahmed as Group Chief People Officer

Sehr's priorities over the next few years will involve shaping a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and continuous growth to bring about positive change and impact for the business and the people.

As of January 2024, Sehr Ahmed has joined SingPost as its Group Chief People Officer (GCPO). 

In her new role, Sehr's priorities over the next few years will involve shaping a culture of inclusivity, innovation and continuous growth to bring about positive change and impact for the business and the people. As SingPost accelerates its global growth and transformation journey into an integrated tech-led logistics business, she highlights embracing change as a catalyst and an enabler.

"SingPost has always been committed to creating a diverse and inclusive culture that values and supports its employees. Continuous efforts to introduce more initiatives to foster diversity and inclusion within the workplace, and building a culture that is aligned with SingPost’s evolving identity will be vital."

Under Sehr's leadership, the group will continue to invest in its people, to ensure that they are equipped with leadership and digital skills to grow and contribute to a future-ready organisation.

"As the logistics and supply chain industry evolves, companies must also adapt by evolving their culture and foster a growth mindset among the team members. As we transform from being a postal provider to an industry-leading integrated logistics company, our culture as a great place to work will attract the best and brightest, so that they can bring their innovation, energy and expertise to drive our advancement and growth."

Sehr reports to the Group CEO, Vincent Phang as they work alongside the leadership team to ensure that as the business grows, so does its people in mindset, skill set and career opportunities.

Speaking on the appointment, Sehr expressed: "It is not often that you see a 165-year-old company that is part of the national heritage of Singapore, transforming and reinventing itself. This resonated with me at a deeply personal level as I have reinvented myself a couple of times in my career. This is a radical transformation journey that I have the honour and privilege to be part of."

SingPost’s commitment of making every delivery count for people and planet, two of the most critical aspects to any successful business in the world today, resonated with Sehr.

"I see my role of GCPO in three parts, an "architect" as I will build and design things; an "alchemist" as I create cultural transformation and that is where the magic happens, and an "advocate" for our business and our people.

Prior to joining SingPost, Sehr was Global CHRO of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
