Up the ranks: Pushp Kumar Nayar takes the helm of Director (Human Resources) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation

Leveraging his background, Nayar aims to continue to foster a progressive, performance-oriented work culture whilst enhancing organisational effectiveness and people capability across the enterprise.

Pushp Kumar Nayar (pictured above) has taken charge as Director — Human Resources at Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), bringing with him more than 35 years of experience across retail, lubricants, supply chain, business development and human resource development.

Prior to taking on the role, Nayar served as Executive Director — HRD at BPCL. In this role, he played a key role in advancing leadership development, employee engagement, talent management and HR transformation initiatives aligned with the company's growth aspirations. He was also involved in strengthening talent review processes and using HR analytics and emerging AI-led interventions to support data-driven decision-making.

Having carried many hats, Nayar brings a business-grounded view of organisational transformation and is certified in global psychometric frameworks including MBTI and Hogan assessments, as well as is a member of the Harvard Business India Leadership Advisory Board. He has also served as a Board Member of Central UP Gas and Sabarmati Gas, and currently serves as Chairman on the Board of Arunachal Gas Private.

In a Linkedin post to commemorate the appointment, the company congratulated Nayar on his new role and wishes him continued success in this leadership journey.
