Up The Ranks: Oliver Grohmann joins LG Electronics' global HR team

LG Electronics has appointed Oliver Grohmann as its corporate vice-president of global human resources effective 1st August of this year.

"LG Electronics is a great company with fantastic products, cutting edge technology and a long history," Grohmann told Human Resources.

"I am excited about the innovation power of the company, and the highly committed and motivated people. I am sure that we will further build our global footprint and that we will continue to enter new business areas."

Grohmann is now based in Seoul, Korea at the LG headquarters, and is responsible for all of LG’s international HR operations outside of Korea, spanning more than 80 countries.

His job scope includes functions such as sales and marketing, manufacturing, services and R&D.

Previously, Grohman was the senior vice president of human resources, Mercedes-Benz sales & marketing overseas, undertaking responsibility for HR operations across 22 markets. These included Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Central Europe and Middle/South America,

Grohmann aspires to use LG's strong consumer and product brand better to build up a strong employer brand.

"We have a lot to offer, we are a global company that is operating in many different interesting fields. For example we have a strong footprint in the automotive business, but I am sure that many potential candidates do not know about this," he added.
