Zyble brings more than 25 years of HR experience to her new role, effective 6 November.

UC Health, Greater Cincinnati’s academic healthcare system, has announced Margie Zyble as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), starting 6 November 2023.

Zyble will be joining UC Health with over 25 years of HR experience. She has worked across a variety of industries over the course of her career, and gained experience in areas such as employee relations, employee retention and engagement, talent acquisition and pipeline development, performance management, inclusion and diversity, and HR operations.

She is currently the Chief People Officer at 80 Acres Farms in Hamilton. Prior to her current role, she also previously served as interim CHRO and Chief Talent Officer for GE Aviation.

UC Health President & CEO Cory Shaw commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Margie to UC Health to drive our human resources strategies and initiatives. With almost 25 years of HR experience, including 20 years at GE, she has consistently aligned HR functions with organisational goals, fostering a culture that is collaborative, transparent, innovative, and people-centric.

“She will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our workforce is not only highly skilled but also passionately dedicated to our tripartite mission of advancing clinical care, research and education in our community and beyond.”

As Zyble joins UC Health, she plans to step into the role by listening and learning, and a series of engagement activities are planned with employees across the organisation over the coming months to learn more about UC Health’s people and culture.

With over 12,000 clinicians and employees, UC Health is among Greater Cincinnati’s largest employers. The health system serves more than half a million patients from all 50 states each year across four inpatient campuses and 65 outpatient locations. As Greater Cincinnati’s adult academic health system, UC Health also plays a unique role in advancing research and scientific discovery through its affiliation with the University of Cincinnati.

Zyble expressed: “It is truly an honor to join this organisation. UC Health and the broader University of Cincinnati family have such a deep history, and it is a privilege to be a part of the path forward. The delicate balance of protecting the things that make UC Health special, coupled with the necessity to carve a new path forward, is incredibly appealing. I’m moved by the role that UC Health serves in the Greater Cincinnati community, and I love that the organisation’s transformation vision is one that drives positive impact for our local community.”

Danielle Apanius, who has served as the interim CHRO since January 2023, will resume her longtime role as vice president of financial operations for the health system.

Shaw added: “We extend our sincerest gratitude to Danielle Apanius, who has served as the interim chief human resources officer during this transitional period. Danielle’s dedication and tireless commitment have ensured a smooth transition and advanced our organisation".
