Up the ranks: Jessica Ong steps into VP, Group HR role at Wasco

She brings more than two decades of regional HR leadership experience to the role, and will play a key part in the company’s efforts to build a high-performance, people-centric culture.

Wasco has welcomed Jessica Ong as its new Vice President, Group Human Resources. She joined the organisation on 19 January 2026.

In this role, Ong will lead the Group’s people strategy as Wasco continues to scale across geographies and sectors. Her focus will include strengthening talent attraction and development, while ensuring HR practices remain agile, data-driven, and aligned with the Group’s long-term business ambitions.

Prior to joining Wasco, Ong was HR Director for SEA and HRBP for Asia Pacific at Schaeffler. Across her career, she has accumulated more than 20 years of regional and multinational HR leadership experience, having held roles with global organisations such as Baker Hughes, GE, BP, Maxis, and OSRAM.

Her experience spans ASEAN, Greater China, and the wider Asia Pacific region, with a strong focus on HR strategy, organisational transformation, and compensation and benefits in fast, matrixed environments.

According to Wasco, Ong’s early career foundation in audit, finance, and compensation and benefits has also shaped her approach to human capital leadership, bringing a strong governance and analytical lens to the role.

At Wasco, the company said, her extensive regional exposure and experience leading through organisational change will be crucial to support the company’s efforts to build a high-performance, people-centric culture across its global footprint.
