Qualcomm Incorporated has named Frank Meng as the new chairman of Qualcomm China.
According to a press release, Meng will be reporting to Derek Aberle, president of Qualcomm Incorporated, in his appointment effective June 15th.
Meng has 30 years of telecommunications experience, including two years as the senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Greater China.
"I’m very pleased to welcome Frank Meng back to the company as chairman of Qualcomm China," said Aberle.
"Frank’s extensive industry experience and leadership will drive continued business growth and further strengthen our collaboration across the Chinese mobile ecosystem and semiconductor sector."
Qualcomm added that the senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Greater China, Xiang Wang, will be exiting after a 13-year tenure at the company. He will join smartphone maker Xiaomi as senior vice president of strategic cooperation.
"Under Xiang’s leadership, the company has contributed extensively to the growth and success of the mobile and semiconductor industries in China. Xiang has contributed greatly to these achievements," Aberle said.
"I’d like to thank Xiang for his more than a decade of hard work and wish him the best in his future endeavours.
