Up the ranks: Annella Heytens joins Microsoft as GM HR for Asia

A passionate advocate of D&I, Heytens now leads the people and talent strategy aligned to Microsoft’s mission and business goals across the region.

As of September 2022, Annella Heytens has joined Microsoft Asia as General Manager, Human Resources.

In this role, Heytens is leading the people and talent strategy aligned to Microsoft’s mission and business goals across the region, tasked to help create a culture that attracts and inspires the world’s most passionate talent. She is also focused on providing HR leadership to the business, aligning people strategy, and enabling business performance by making Microsoft an exceptional place to work and empowering the (more than 40,000) employees across the region to thrive.

Prior to taking up this assignment, Heytens has over 20 years of global HR leadership experience, her most recent position prior at Amazon Web Services where she was the Head of People Experience and Technology for the APJC region. She has also held leadership positions at the Coca-Cola Bottling Investments Group, Cisco Systems, and Willis Towers Watson.

During these tenures, Heytens has developed expertise in design thinking, business model innovation, managing talent, enhancing performance and growth, and driving business outcomes.

Heytens is a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion and is a certified Master Practitioner from the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). Having lived and worked in the United States, India, Indonesia, Greater China Region, and Singapore, she is deeply connected to the Asia region.
