Seven-day forecast

According to TMD's seven-day forecast on 4 May, Upper Thailand is expected to experience increased rainfall with gusty winds in some places, and heavy rain possible in some areas on 5 May and from 8-10 May. This, it said, is due to another wave of high pressure or cold air mass from China, which will spread over the South China Sea, resulting in southeasterly winds blowing over Upper Thailand.

Rainfall in the region will decrease from 6-7 May, but thunderstorms and gusty winds may occur in some places, with hot weather during the day and very hot weather in some high-pressure areas, or those receiving cold air masses from China covering the Northeast.

Meanwhile, the southern region may experience increased rainfall on 5 May, due to the easterly and southeasterly winds. TMD noted that the waves in the Gulf of Thailand are about one-metre high, reaching higher than that in areas with thunderstorms. On that note, the region may also experience heavy rain in some areas between 6-10 May 2026, due to the easterly wind waves blowing over the lower southern region.
