The hourly minimum wage will also be adjusted to NT$196.

A consensus was reached among Taiwan’s labour organisations, employers' organisations, academia, and the government during the latest Basic Wage Commission meeting on 26 September 2025 regarding the adjustment of minimum wages.

Effective 1 January 2026, Taiwan’s monthly basic wage (minimum wage) will be raised to NT$29,500, and the hourly basic wage (minimum wage) to NT$196, reflecting a 3.18% uplift.

The Ministry of Labor (MOL) will submit the proposed adjustments to the Executive Yuan. If approved, this will mark the 10th consecutive year of minimum wage hikes in Taiwan – representing a cumulative increase of 47.4% in the monthly wage and 63.3% in the hourly wage since the upward trend began.

An estimated 2.47mn workers are expected to benefit from the increase, including approximately 2.08mn local workers.
