Singapore and Japan launch new travel track for long-term residents

Singapore and Japan have launched a Residence Track to facilitate the movement of business executives and business professionals who are work pass holders.

According to a press release by Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, interested applicants may apply for the Residence Track from 30 September 2020. Additional details will be made available on the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (for entry into Japan) and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (for entry into Singapore) before 30 September.

The Residence Track allows cross border travelers to enter Singapore or Japan, but requires them to stay at home for 14 days or designated locations, the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website stated. It is intended mainly for long-term residents by dispatch or rotation within business personnel.

This new track is in addition to the Business Track (or Reciprocal Green Lane) launched earlier this month.
