Silverlake Axis establishes sponsorship programme to foster Malaysia’s young tech talent pool

This MoU with Forward School based in Penang, will enable sponsored students to pursue professional opportunities at the Singapore Exchange Mainboard-listed company.

Enterprise technology, software, and services company Silverlake Axis (SAL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Forward School, a skills school based in Penang, Malaysia.

This MOU is part of SAL’s priority on fostering the next generation of technical talent and building a sustainable talent pipeline, translating into job opportunities within the group. As a result of the partnership, the SAL Sponsorship Programme has been established, with a view to hire deserving students, creating a funnel of talent, and facilitate a succession plan.

A new career in tech with a a focus on financial services 

Sponsored students will have an opportunity to pursue internship opportunities with SAL before potentially securing permanent employment offer after completing of a minimum of two years of study at Forward School.

Offers for permanent roles will be subject to academic performance. To be eligible, candidates must be:

  • Malaysian,
  • Between the ages of 18 to 30,
  • On track to achieving a CGPA of 3.30.

The MOU aligns with SAL’s vision of developing and nurturing talent across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Other efforts part of the group's people-first HR strategy include the One Silverlake programme, which aims to improve employee development and retention.
