RTX and EDB to deepen collaboration on advanced manufacturing, talent and skills development, and more

"We are excited to witness the build-out of new capabilities in advanced manufacturing and innovation in the coming years, which will bring significant value to the ecosystem," Cindy Koh, Executive Vice President, EDB, commented.

RTX, an American multinational aerospace and defence conglomerate, and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining a 10-year roadmap to further long-term strategic collaboration in Singapore.

Singapore is RTX’s third-largest commercial site outside of the United States, serving as its operational hub for commercial aviation in the Asia Pacific region. With a presence in Singapore for over 50 years, the company currently employs more than 4,300 staff across 12 factories, and is said to be a key source of employment in among foreign aerospace and defence companies in the country.

Over the years, RTX has also been part of the development and delivery of solutions for defence and commercial aviation customers across the region.

RTX and EDB said the latest MoU reinforces both parties’ commitment to Singapore’s position as a strategic node in RTX’s global network, setting the stage for strategic investments and collaborations across core areas:

  1. Advanced manufacturing
  2. Maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO)
  3. Artificial intelligence and innovation
  4. Talent and skills development
  5. Foundational technologies for next-generation platforms

Paolo Dal Cin, Senior Vice President, Operations and Supply Chain, RTX, shared: "This MoU builds on our decades-long partnership with Singapore and creates new opportunities to explore innovation and future growth in the aerospace sector. It represents our shared vision for building a strong future focused on technology, advanced manufacturing and talent development in the Asia-Pacific region."

Cindy Koh, Executive Vice President, EDB, added: "We are excited to witness the build-out of new capabilities in advanced manufacturing and innovation in the coming years, which will bring significant value to the ecosystem."
