PageGroup announces senior promotions in Greater China

PageGroup, a leading UK-listed global recruitment company, has announced the promotions of two senior executives in the Greater China region.

Effective today, Sharmini Wainwright (picture top) has been promoted to managing director of Michael Page and Page Personnel Hong Kong, and Richard King (pictured below) has been promoted to senior managing director of Michael Page, North and East China.

“Richard and Sharmini are industry veterans with well over 30 years PageGroup experience between them; I am confident they will continue their track records of building high performance offices in Greater China as we continue to expand in this region,” says Anthony Thompson, regional managing director, PageGroup Greater China.

“Over the past 20 years, we have built our business to over 450 professionals across the region and we are proud of our reputation for quality, specialism and expertise. These two individuals are an inspiration to our team and will lead them to deliver strategic counsel, in-depth insights, exceptional quality work and market leading expertise to our clients."

As managing director, Wainwright's remit will include managing a team of 140 people across three offices in Hong Kong and she will continue to strengthen the organisation’s market leadership position in Hong Kong.

She will report directly to Andy Bentote, Senior Managing Director, Michael Page and Page Personnel, Hong Kong and Southern China.

As senior managing director, King will continue to report directly to Anthony Thompson, regional managing director of  PageGroup Greater China.

Richard oversees a growing team of 200 people currently across four offices in Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing. He has led the team to achieve a strong record year in 2014.
