NTUC FairPrice today introduced its redesigned One FairPrice Family Programme, which enables all management and corporate employees – numbering some 800 employees based at FairPrice HQ – to engage in operational activities.
Under this initiative, corporate employees can commit a minimum of three days annually to support the retailer’s key operational functions, such as attending to customers, replenishment, retrieving trolleys, and selling mandarin oranges during the Lunar New Year festive season.
The programme aims to foster inter-department integration among FairPrice’s 10,000 strong workforce and sharpen its focus on being a customer-centric retailer. The additional in-store support also seeks to alleviate additional manpower needs to manage increased customer traffic during the festive peak season.
It was first launched in November 2016, since when 46% of corporate staff have participated.
Speaking to the press at the launch event, Seah Kian Peng, CEO at NTUC FairPrice mentioned: "The key intention is for staff from our headquarters to come down and understand the challenges of our frontline employees."
"At the same time, it builds better alignment between the front line and back office staff so as to serve our customers better," he added.
