New job portal aims to woo Malaysians abroad back home

An online job board has been launched as an initiative to connect Malaysian nationals working overseas with local employers looking to invest in talent with foreign work experience.

Global Malaysians is an initiative by the national agency TalentCorp and myStarjob.com, launched on the sidelines of a recent recruitment drive  for Malaysian undergraduates in Australia.

"Malaysians abroad for many years sometimes find it challenging to look for jobs back home. At the same time, employers are in critical need of talent with global perspectives," explained Johan Mahmood Merican, CEO of TalentCorp.

The portal reported offering more than 200 mid to senior level positions from 40 employers, including Shell, IBM, Hong Leong Bank, and Gamuda.
