More employees want further education

There has been a healthy year-on-year increase in the number of employees who have indicated they are interested in furthering their education.

According to a report by JobsCentral, 82.7% of 8,367 respondents said they were keen on pursuing further education, up from 71.5% last year. This is also the highest percentage since the survey began in 2009.

A majority (86.5%) of those who intend to return to school said they want to do it to advance their careers.

“Our professionals recognise that while having the right qualifications can open doors to a promotion or raise, they also know that continuous upgrading increases their value beyond just a formal education,” Lim Der Shing, CEO of JobsCentral Group, said.

Business studies and management courses was the most popular choice for further education (2,548 votes), followed by hospitality, tourism and F&B courses, which garnered 1,938 votes.
