MEF calls on Malaysian employers to "strictly abide" by SOP in fight against COVID-19

The Malaysian Employers Federation's (MEF) President, Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman, has called on MEF members and employers in general to strictly abide by the established standard operating procedure (SOP) in order to effectively and efficiently combat COVID-19.

In a message to MEF's members on Friday (2 October), he said: "Today marked the 199th day of the Movement Control Order and as at the 1st of October, a total of 260 new cases were recorded.

"In the past two weeks, new cases have reached three digits, signalling that we have yet able to curb the spread of COVID-19. Combating COVID-19 is everyone’s responsibility and all employers have an important duty to observe. At this critical juncture, we must strictly observe the SOP as this reflects our commitment as responsible employers."

He added that the MEF "fully supports and would always cooperate with" the government and the other agencies, and particularly the health ministry in tackling the pandemic.
