McCann Singapore names new CEO

Robert Doswell, Asia Pacific’s regional managing director of Craft, has been named the new chief executive officer for McCann Singapore, effective August 1.

This role is in addition to his current responsibilities with Craft. Doswell takes over responsibilities from Benjamin Lightfoot, who served as CEO for three years.

Doswell joined McCann Worldgroup in April 2012 to launch, integrate and lead Craft across the Asia Pacific region. Today Craft operates across eight markets with a team of almost 200 people in Asia Pacific.

“It’s an exciting time to run an agency. The industry is learning how to adapt to changing consumer behavior, client demands and a diverging media landscape," said Doswell in a press release.

"There is a need to evolve fast, to win. This helps us to focus, drive greater creative ideas, and produce work more efficiently than ever before. I'm looking forward to working with the Singapore team to meet this challenge."

McCann Worldgroup's APAC president Charles Cadell said:

"He’s an effective business leader, with a true entrepreneurial spirit having run one of Singapore’s most innovative and awarded creative engines, to building MWG’s influential creative production service, Craft, as its regional managing director.

“Our leadership must be equipped to manage the changing dynamics of the industry and the world we live in. Rob’s broad, balanced and proven capabilities combined with his relentless curiosity and drive, will ensure we prosper as a by-product of our clients success."

Prior to joining McCann, Doswell was vice president of Ogilvy’s integrated creative and production company, Ogilvy RedWorks and managing director of the Singapore RedWorks operation.
