Malaysia's ESD introduces enhanced online company interview & document sighting functions

The enhancements are part of the Expatriate Services Division's ongoing efforts to streamline processes and improve communication for Employment Pass and Professional Visit Pass applications.

The Expatriate Services Division (ESD) Malaysia announced on 30 July 2025 that effective 6 August 2025, an enhanced online company interview function will be made available within the ESD Online system effective 6 August.

This initiative is part of ESD's efforts to streamline processes and improve communication for Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications.

The enhancement has been designed to offer the following conveniences for applicants:

  1. Centralised interview notifications: Interview requirements (if applicable) will be communicated directly through the ESD Online, providing better clarity and accessibility to users.
  2. Improved scheduling flexibility: Companies will be able to select the earliest available interview slot when rescheduling.
  3. Clearer communication and documentation guidance: Any additional documentation required to support EP or PVP applications will be clearly outlined via the ESD Online.

In addition to the Online Company Interview function, the ESD will also be enhancing its online document sighting function, with effect from 7 August.

This enhancement aims to offer the following conveniences for EP and PVP applications:

  1. Centralised document sighting notifications: Document sighting requirements (if applicable) will be communicated directly through the ESD Online, providing better clarity and accessibility to users.
  2. Improved scheduling flexibility: Companies will be able to select the earliest available document sighting slot when rescheduling.
  3. Clearer communication and documentation guidance: Any additional documentation required to support EP or PVP applications will be clearly outlined via the ESD Online.

"These improvements aim to facilitate a more transparent and efficient application experience, while ensuring alignment with the Immigration Department of Malaysia's regulatory framework.

"We remain committed to supporting Malaysia's talent ecosystem by maintaining a secure, transparent, and accountable expatriate management process," the MYXpats Centre, under the ESD, commented.
