RON97, RON95 and non-subsidised diesel prices will decrease from 5 to 11 November 2026, while eligible motorists can enjoy half-price tolls on 6 and 7 November.
Motorists in Malaysia will pay less for petrol and diesel from 5 November 2026, following the latest retail fuel price adjustments announced by the Ministry of Finance.
Based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula, the retail price of RON97 will decrease by RM0.20 per litre, while RON95 and non-subsidised diesel will each fall by RM0.15 per litre.
The revised prices, which will be in effect from 5 to 11 November 2026, are as follows:
| Fuel type | New retail price | Previous price | Change |
| RON97 | RM4.70 per litre | RM4.90 per litre | Decrease by RM0.20 |
| RON95 | RM4.27 per litre | RM4.42 per litre | Decrease by RM0.15 |
| Diesel | RM5.12 per litre | RM5.27 per litre | Decrease by RM0.15 |
The Ministry noted that the regional petroleum market is showing signs of moderation following increased supplies of refined fuels, including petrol and diesel stocks in Singapore, which are among the market references for petroleum pricing in Malaysia.
This, together with the decline in Brent crude oil prices towards the end of the APM calculation period, points to the possibility of downward price pressures. However, geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia continue to pose risks to the stability of global petroleum prices.
As announced in Budget 2027, fuel subsidies are expected to remain high at around RM40bn next year to help ease cost-of-living pressures.
Subsidised fuel prices remain unchanged
Under the BUDI95 programme, eligible recipients will be able to receive RON95 at RM1.99 per litre, compared with the non-subsidised price of RM4.27 per litre.
This means the Government bears a subsidy of RM2.28 per litre, equivalent to 53% of the non-subsidised price.
For BUDI Diesel, eligible recipients will continue to pay RM2.10 per litre, compared with the non-subsidised price of RM5.12 per litre. The Government covers the difference of RM3.02 per litre, or 59% of the non-subsidised price.
The following subsidised fuel prices will be maintained:
| Fuel type | Subsidised price |
| RON95 (BUDI95) | RM1.99 per litre |
| Diesel (BUDI Diesel) | RM2.10 per litre |
| Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) | RM2.05 per litre |
| Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) | RM2.15 per litre |
Through BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel, eligible Malaysians can purchase RON95 and subsidised diesel using their MyKad, subject to monthly eligibility limits.
The Government added that it will continue to take a prudent approach to protecting the public from price fluctuations while ensuring the country's fuel supply remains sufficient and secure.
50% toll discount announced for Deepavali
Separately, the Ministry of Works has announced a 50% toll discount for motorists in conjunction with the Deepavali 2026 celebrations.
The discount will apply from midnight (12am) on 6 November (Friday) until 11.59pm on 7 November (Saturday), based on the normal toll rates.
The initiative is estimated to involve RM20.11mn in compensation payments to the participating highway concessionaires. The Government will bear the cost, subject to verification of traffic data.
The discount will cover Class 1 private vehicles at all toll plazas, as well as Class 2 vehicles at the Penang Bridge.
However, it will not apply at the following national border toll plazas:
- Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Toll Plaza on the North-South Expressway (PLUS).
- Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA).
The Ministry of Works, through the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), will coordinate the implementation with the highway concessionaires involved to ensure eligible motorists can enjoy the discount.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and ensure their Touch 'n Go cards or eWallet balances are sufficient before travelling. They should also observe speed limits, maintain a safe distance between vehicles and take adequate rest to avoid fatigue.
In addition, road users are encouraged to check the LLM's official channels for the latest traffic information and highway incident updates when planning their journeys.
The Ministry of Works also wished the Hindu community a Happy Deepavali, expressing hope that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity and harmony while strengthening unity among Malaysians.
