Malaysia Airports' senior GM arrested over alleged fund misappropriation

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has confirmed the arrest of one of its employees by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), in a statement.

The company has committed to giving its full cooperation in the investigation.

The full statement said: "We have been made aware through various media reports today (22 February 2017) on the arrest made by MACC on one of our employees. Malaysia Airports had given full cooperation to MACC on this investigation and will continue to do so until it is concluded."

Prior to the release of the statement, Bernama had reported that the person arrested was a senior general manager at MAHB’s human resources department, citing a source in the company.

According to what the source told Bernama, the arrested allegedly used his corporate credit cards to undergo a skin and slimming treatment unlisted in his contractual benefits. These were reported to be worth RM80,000.

Human Resources has reached out to MAHB representatives for further details.
