LOOK: The world's worst job ads

The viral story this week of OLDTOWN's latest recruitment ad in Malaysia - which has since been apologised for and removed - has got us thinking...

We're sure there are way worse job ads out there.

Turns out, we're right. While not many of these are recruitment postings for corporate or senior jobs, they're good enough as an example of what not to do (and great for a laugh). Enjoy:

This one is perfect! If you want to get paid in cake (said no one ever):

Bad-ad-1

You can apply for this job if you can go back in time, or... something:

Bad-ad-2

How about a job where you get to do four people's work! Yes, FOUR! Thanks, but no thanks, Penny Arcade:

This one is reeeeally dated, but still. Come on:

What about this super-enticing job offer?

A couple of years ago, the Dalkey Press Archive posted this job ad for its London office:

“Any of the following will be grounds for immediate dismissal during the probationary period: coming in late or leaving early without prior permission; being unavailable at night or on the weekends; failing to meet any goals; giving unsolicited advice about how to run things; taking personal phone calls during work hours; gossiping; misusing company property, including surfing the internet while at work; submission of poorly written materials; creating an atmosphere of complaint or argument; failing to respond to emails in a timely way; not showing an interest in other aspects of publishing beyond editorial; making repeated mistakes; violating company policies. DO NOT APPLY if you have a work history containing any of the above.”

The ad continues with its requirements which include things like being fired for not responding to emails promptly enough, being so "desperate" to have a career in publishing that you will "sacrifice to make that career happen" and being forbidden to have any other obligations or commitments (even outside of work) that will interfere with the job at hand.

Sounds real fun.

But at least it's not quite as desperate as this:

And just to finish off, this old Barclay's ad is actually a bit funny - if somewhat cringeworthy:
