Important dates for Malaysian employers to register and bring in their foreign workers

The Malaysian Immigration Department has shared an update for all employers and Malaysia Visa Application Processing Agency (APPVM) agents, on the following important dates regarding the registration and entry of foreign workers.

17 May 2024

  • This is the last day to submit eVISA applications for foreign workers.
  • Ensure all applications are completed and submitted by this date to avoid any disruptions in your hiring process.

18 May 2024

  • eVISA applications for all foreign worker categories will be closed on this date.
  • Please ensure that all necessary applications are submitted before this deadline.

27 May 2024

  • eVISA applications will re-open for the foreign worker category, covering:
  1. Peninsular Malaysia & Federal Territory of Labuan (informal sector)
  2. Sabah and Sarawak (both formal and informal sectors)

31 May 2024

  • This deadline applies specifically to the entry of foreign workers in the formal sector, for Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan. Ensure that all entries are completed by this date.
