HRDF joins HR Excellence Awards

Asia’s only regional media & events brand, Human Resources, is delighted to announce that HRDF, the Human Resources Development Fund, Malaysia, has signed on as silver sponsor of the HR Excellence Awards.

This is Asia’s only regional HR awards programme that recognises both organisations and individuals that stand out in areas of HR strategy and execution, including employee development, recruitment & retention, CSR practices and use of innovative HR technologies.

HRDF’s chief executive officer, CM Vignaesvaran (Vicks), will be presenting the prestigious HR Grand Winner Award at the awards celebration.

"In recent years, Malaysia’s economy has diversified from commodities towards a high value manufacturing and service based environment,” said Vicks.

He continued: "The key for Malaysia to secure a lasting place among the ranks of high-income economies is very much dependent on the quality of human capital and the manner in which education and human capital development initiatives are structured, with the objective of increasing the skilled local workforce from the current 28% to 35% by 2020."

HRDF has recently taken on greater responsibility to reach out to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and corporations, in educating and motivating them to seek the benefits and value of HRDF programmes.

This signifies the evolvement of HRDF’s role from managing a sizeable fund to assuming a larger accountability of institutionalising competency needs across the nation’s 12 key economic areas (NKEAs).
