HR Practitioner Appointments

Havas appoints Kevin Zhang as director of HROn May 19, 2016, the advertising and PR firm appointed of Kevin Zhang as its director of HR, based in Singapore. A seasoned professional with more than 15 years of HR experience, Zhang was most recently the APAC HR lead at R/GA Singapore. In his new role, Zhang leads the regional talent initiatives of Havas including flagship brands Havas Worldwide and Havas Media, and reports to Michael Lelievre, chief financial officer of Havas Asia Pacific.

Maureen LS Chan is the head of talent acquisition at AstroAstro Malaysia Holdings has appointed Maureen LS Chan to the role of head of talent acquisition, effective May 2016. With over 16 years of working experience and about seven years of this in HR, Chan's most recent role was as the ASEAN talent acquisition manager at Ernst and Young. In her new role, she will remain based in Malaysia.

Appointments at Kerry HotelThe China-based based hotel chain has appointed Katy Fok, based in Hong Kong, as its director of HR with effect from April 2016. Fok comes with almost 17 years of HR experience with her most recent role being the director of HR for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.

Another appointment is that of Peggy Lee, who with effect from May 2016, has taken on the role of HR manager at Kerry Hotel. With almost eight years of HR experience in the hospitality industry, Lee has worked for hotels such as Marriott, The Mira Hong Kong and most recently Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. In her new role, Lee will remain based in Hong Kong.

Noel Cho takes up a new role in Dufry GroupWith effect from May 2016, Noel Cho has joined Dufry Group as the HR director for Asia, Middle East and Australia, continuing to be based in Hong Kong. Having been in the industry since 1997, Cho has a wealth of experience and expertise in human resources with her most recent role being the director of human resources at TSL Jewelry Group.

Intersil Corporation brings Edwin Go on board as HR business partnerThe semiconductor firm has appointed Edwin Go as HR business partner, effective May 2016. Go comes with four years of HR experience and was most previously the assistant manager - HR business partner (Indochina) at Tan Chong Group. Go will remain based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in this role.

Anna Cheng has moved to Fortune Pharmacal Co. in Hong KongCheng has taken up the role of learning and development manager at the Hong Kong based pharmaceutical company with effect from May 2016. Cheng was previously learning and development manager at Lanson Place Hospitality Management where she helped design and implement training and development strategies.

Resorts World Sentosa has promoted Felovemyr YusikeeFelovemyr Yusikee has been promoted by the integrated resort group to the role of assistant manager of corporate training and development with effect from February this year. Yusikee has worked for Resorts World Sentosa since 2011 and previously held the role of area manager for attractions, operations, and administration. She remains based in Singapore.

Laily Shaarani moves up the career ladder at MaxisThe telecommunications firm has promoted Laily Shaarani to the role of employee / labour relations specialist with effect from April 2016. She remains based in Malaysia and is now responsible for end to end industrial relations matters. Laily was previously industrial relations associate at Maxis.

She spoke to Human Resources on her priorities this year: "For 2016 we want to ensure that all our managers are well equipped with the knowledge and understanding in managing their team members effectively and within the law through internal training programmes."

Bonnie Tsai nominated to the role of HR manager for hexTronikThe radio control products firm has appointed Bonnie Tsai as HR manager with effect from April 2016, in a role located in Hong Kong. Tsai comes with about eight years of HR experience having most recently held the role of human resources advisor at Fonterra Brands (Hong Kong).

Huawei names Henry Wong as global income tax principal expert, part of HRHuawei has appointed Henry Wong to global income tax principal expert, part of the HR management team, effective March 2016. He will be involved with mobility solutions, deferred compensation, retirement plans, and more. His most recent role was as executive director - GMS regional tax manager at Goldman Sachs Hong Kong. The new role sees him moving from Hong Kong to Guangdong, China.

Abhay Kapoor is designated as Amazon's senior HR leader The e-commerce giant has appointed Abhay Kapoor to the role of senior HR leader with effect from January 2016, continuing to be based in New Delhi, India. With 12 years of HR experience, Kapoor was most recently the associate VP - corporate HR and group head - employee relations at Escorts.

Navin Pratap Singh joins pharma big data analytics firm in IndiaBioXcel Corporation has appointed Navin Pratap Singh as assistant manager - HR (talent management), where his responsibilities include performance management, employee engagement and organisational culture re-engineering. Singh comes with seven years of HR consulting experience, having most recently held the role of senior consulting analyst at Aon Hewitt. He will remain based in Gurgaon, India.

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

The Boston Consulting Group welcomes Asia Pacific recruiting/HR directorWith effect from May 2016, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has appointed Royce J Hauw as Asia Pacific recruiting/HR director. Hauw is no stranger to BCG, having previously held the role of director of consulting resource management from 2001 to 2004. Most recently as the president, Shanghai at the UCLA Alumni Association, Hauw will remain based in Shanghai, China in this new role.

Cartus engages Ryan Hull as strategic business solutions provider for ChinaRyan Hull has joined the corporate relocation service provider as strategic business solutions provider - China with effect from May 16, 2016. A seasoned business development executive with more than 10 years of experience, Hull will be based in Cartus' Shanghai office and reporting to Nigel Passingham, vice president, strategic business solutions EMEA and APAC.

Appointments at Korn FerryThe management consulting firm has appointed Claudia Wu as Korn Ferry's senior client partner with effect from May 2016. In her new role, Wu will remain based in Shanghai, China, where she was most recently a principal at Egon Zehnder International.

Meanwhile, Korn Ferry Hay Group has promoted Varun Khosla to the role of principal as of May 2016. Having been with Hay Group since July 2011, he was most recently senior consultant. He has about 15 years of work experience and continues to be based in Dubai, UAE in his new role.
