HR Practitioner Appointments

Edelman appoints VP recruitment, APACPearl Tong was appointed VP Recruitment, APAC at Edelman in April.  Her previous appointment was HR director APAC at Waggener Edstorm.  Tong started her career in the recruitment field in 2004.

Promotion at HSBCMarco Heung was promoted to manager, performance and reward, human resources Asia Pacific at HSBC in March.  He was promoted from the assistant manager role and he had been serving in the bank's HR department since 2011.

Intertrust Group welcomes head of human resourcesCathy Chan was named senior manager, head of human resources of the group with effect in March.  She joined the group in 2011 and was promoted from manager human resources.  Chan has more than 18 years of experience in the human resources sector.

Fidessa promotes human resources advisorKevin Lim was promoted to senior human resources advisor, APAC at Fidessa with effect in March.  He joined the company in 2016 as human resources advisor, APAC.  Lim started his career in the human resources field in 2011.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited strengthens HR teamHong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) welcomed Ryan Cheng as HR business partner in March.

Fanny Lo takes on new role at I.T ApparelsAfter more than 16 years serving as associate HR director at I.T Apparels, Lo moved to a talent acquisition consultant role with effect in March.


HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Senior appointment at Willis Towers WatsonWillis Towers Watson announced the appointment of Simon Weaver as leader of corporate risk & broking (CRB) for Asia and Australasia in March.

As part of a strategic business drive to position CRB as a truly global business, with global lines of business and global standards of sales and client service, Weaver ’s current role as head of CRB for Asia has been expanded to include operations inAustralia and New Zealand (Australasia).

In what is a newly-created, expanded role, Weaver is responsible for accelerating CRB’s growth across Asia Pacific by coordinating Willis Towers Watson’s global CRB capabilities with the company’s regional and local market expertise.

A veteran of Asia with over 20 years of insurance and broking experience in the region, Weaver will dedicate his time between Asia and Australasia to focus on strengthening client relationships and to find new ways to enhance and strengthen CRB’s capabilities and client offering throughout Asia Pacific.

Glo Consulting names managing directorCorporate training service provider Glo Consulting had appointed Gary Lo as managing director and principal instructor with effect in March.  Lo is a career coach at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) business school.  His previous appoint was head of marketing & admissions, MBA programme at HKUST.

Promotion at Talent TreeNatalie Chen was promoted to consultant at Talent Tree with effect in March, she joined the company in 2016 as a researcher.
