Heineken opens APAC graduate programme 2019 to young Malaysians

Heineken has announced that its Asia Pacific Graduate Programme (APGP) is now receiving applications for the 2019 batch. During the APGP, recruits will get a chance to experience assignments in the Asia Pacific region while being mentored by senior leaders of the business.

According to a media release, the APGP is a regional initiative to nurture fresh graduates via a 24-month programme that offers invaluable experience and exposure to grow and enhance the capabilities of the trainees.

It involves a comprehensive induction that is divided into four 6-month assignments with opportunities to be exposed to various areas within a selected function.

Renuka Indrarajah, Heineken Malaysia's corporate affairs and legal director, said: "The APGP is unique in the way we provide trainees with a tailored programme that exposes our graduate talents to the Heineken business across the Asia Pacific region.

"Amongst the four assignments, there will be two rotations where the trainee is posted to other Heineken Operating Companies (OpCos). Our focus for the APGP goes beyond being just a training programme, we want our trainees to experience diverse cultures in different markets, with a focus on learning from the best to become a future leader."

Application for the Heineken APGP 2019 opens from 24 October to 9 November 2018 and Heineken Malaysia is currently calling upon outstanding Malaysian graduates to apply before the deadline.

Rajah T Kanagarajah, a Malaysian APGP Trainee, shared: "It is an amazing programme to learn firsthand about the business since you get exposed to various functions quickly. As an APGP Trainee, I was given the independence to initiate learning and progress through my overseas stints. I grew a lot as a person when I was posted to the Philippines and Solomon Islands, where every day was an adventure."
