In a recent wellness report, it was estimated that pain-related productivity losses cost companies across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines the equivalent of US$44.6 billion in 2016 – or 2.4% of the countries’ combined gross domestic product.
Meanwhile, another survey showed that two-thirds of respondents from across the region said it was important their employer had a wellness programme in place, and 59% said such a programme would impact their decision whether to join a new employer. In fact, wellness programmes were even more highly valued by the younger workforce.
Against this backdrop, at the HR Vendors of the Year 2019, Malaysia and Singapore, the winners and finalist in the Best Corporate Wellness Provider category are companies that do an affirmative job in keeping their clients’ workforces healthy through their products and services.
These providers put an emphasis on being part of a preventative and proactive strategy for the client through the provision of specialty solutions, such as company-sponsored nutrition, exercise, ergonomic office design, and much more.
