Designer-oriented co-working space T.H.E Design opens for business

閱讀中文版本

T.H.E Design, a 25,000 square foot co-working space situated in Sha Tin, was officially opened in late November. Co-founded by father and son architects Winston and Alex Shu, the new co-working space aims to provide an environment and culture that will support and nurture young designers.

T.H.E Design stands for technology, humanity and environment, which is embraced throughout the space from the design-specific elements, to the thoughtful interior design, to the nurturing creative culture.

The office has award-winning facilities such as a mix of hot desks, dedicated desks, semi-enclosed and enclosed offices, uplighting, an environmentally friendly air con, A0 size printers, and a high-resolution scanner.

There is also access to various services such as catering, showers, a nursing room, practical workshops on the business of design, and weekly martial arts and yoga classes – this allows T.H.E Design to fulfil its mission to increase opportunities for its members to collaborate.

“As designers ourselves, we have an understanding of the challenges young designers face: the lack of opportunity, access to space, talent and support to be successful,” said Alex Shu, co-founder of T.H.E Design.

“We want the industry to flourish so we are providing a supportive, inclusive and holistic environment for young creatives to lead with curiosity, and to collaborate, inspire and be inspired.”
