Deriv to house new APAC HQ at Quill5 in Cyberjaya, Malaysia in 2021

Deriv currently employs more than 400 people spread across the world in 30 teams, and is recruiting 40 new staff per month worldwide. 

Deriv Services, the Malaysian operational headquarters of digital asset trading platform Deriv, will be acquiring the Quill5 building in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, it announced on Monday (30 November). According to the firm, it had entered a sale and purchase agreement with Maybank Trustees (acting solely in the capacity as trustee for and on behalf of MRCB-Quill REIT) on 12 November, and the transaction is expected to be completed by Q2 2021.

The new premises will house Deriv's APAC operational headquarters and will "solidify the firm's commitment to providing top employment conditions to attract the best talent." Jean-Yves Sireau, Founder of Deriv, noted: "We hope that our new building will become the most attractive and dynamic place to work for young knowledge-workers in the Klang Valley area. We want to attract the top talent from all over Malaysia and use the building to help springboard our group's next phase of growth."

In response to queries from Human Resources Online, Jean-Yves Sireau, CEO, Deriv, said in line with the expansion plans, it is looking to hire more than 200 employees across different roles. These include roles in IT and marketing, such as software developers, software testers, disaster recovery engineers, business development executives, digital marketers; as well as operational roles such as recruiters, HR admins, accounts and payments executives, and more.

Deriv currently employs more than 400 people spread across the world in 30 teams, and is recruiting 40 new staff per month worldwide. The new operational headquarters will offer greater opportunities to further its diversity, it added.

In 2020, Deriv has opened new offices in both Ipoh and Melaka in Malaysia, Limassol in Cyprus, and Kigali in Rwanda.
