Couples working in different Malaysian states can now travel to meet their families

Starting today (Wednesday, 27 January 2021), long-distance married couples in Malaysia will be allowed to travel across states to meet with their partners and families, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced.

In a press conference yesterday (Tuesday, 26 January 2021), Senior Minister Ismail Sabri said this move comes based on advice from the Ministry of Health, following complaints by locals who were working in different states from their partners and families.

These couples would need to seek permission and approval from the Royal Malaysia Police before embarking on their travels.
