MOE has given schools flexibility to reschedule the school-administered assessments, with revised dates to be communicated to parents and guardians.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Education (MOE) has postponed the implementation of the Final Academic Session Examination (UASA) scheduled for next week, as haze continues to affect the country.
In a media statement dated 15 October 2026, the ministry said the decision takes into account concerns from parents and guardians about their children’s health, particularly those who need to attend school to sit for the examinations.
As UASA is a school-administered assessment, schools have been given the flexibility to rearrange their examination schedules. Parents and guardians will be informed of the revised dates.
The ministry acknowledged the dilemma faced by parents, who want to protect their children’s health while also worrying that school absences could result in them missing their assessments.
In that vein, MOE said it would continue to prioritise students’ health and safety while ensuring the assessments can be conducted in an orderly manner.
With the examinations postponed, schools will communicate the new schedules to families, allowing them to plan accordingly as the haze situation continues.
