Co-working space operator The Work Project expands to Singapore

Hong Kong-based co-working space operator, The Work Project, has recently announced its expansion to Singapore. As the official co-working space partner of Downtown Gallery in OUE Downtown, it will span across 20,000 square feet in space - filling the entire fourth floor of the upcoming mall.

As to why they’ve chosen Singapore as their second location, Siddharth Biswas, director of operations at Passion Project (owner of The Work Project) commented to Human Resources: “After having opened our first flagship work space in Hong Kong, we were eager to open our second location in Singapore. Not only as home to our HQ, but the commercial synergies between Singapore & Hong Kong run deep. Several clients in Hong Kong cannot wait to have access to a similar space in Singapore to continue providing their teams an Office 2.0 which they have come to fall in love with.”

He also stated that it was vital to find a location in a mixed-use lifestyle development, explaining why OUE’s Downtown Gallery was a perfect match.

With this expansion, The Work Project is expected to hire 10 full-time team members under full occupancy. The roles would mainly fall under operations/customer service and events management (60%), sales and marketing (20%), as well as administration and general management (20%). The firm would also be outsourcing services from housekeeping, IT solutions & general maintenance providers.

Biswas also highlighted that the space would offer startups, SME's and multinationals the network and benefits to grow their businesses and contribute to the local economy and bring jobs.

“With our space in Hong Kong and the upcoming one in Singapore, our aim is to consolidate our presence in key trade hubs within the region. With increased brand awareness and satisfied members each day, we are also looking out for more locations in Hong Kong and Singapore between now and 2018,” Biswas said.

“From a talent perspective, this means that we are looking for fellow team members who share our vision in revolutionising the office leasing industry - who live and breathe the same values of customer service as we do,” he concluded.
