Christmas parties are perfect start-up points for office romance

Office Christmas party is a great time for colleagues to catch up and mingle but study finds women find much more than friendship in these occasions.

One in seven British women had found love at the office Christmas parties according to a study commissioned by mouthwash manufacture CB12 First Class Breath, the Mirror reports.

This get together during the holiday season is more than just a fling, 20% of women have a long term relationship after kissing a colleague under the mistletoe.

13% of the respondents have their eye on a work colleague this year and a quarter of women have kissed someone at a work. The study interviewed 2,000 women.

The study also finds that women attend on average four Christmas parties over the festive period and she will always look her best, spending around £100 for each outing on clothes, make-up and hair taking around four and a half hours to get ready. 38% admit that they spend so much time getting ready in order to impress someone in particular.

Although women are excited to put on their gad rags and find someone to smooch, they still worry about how confident they will feel in their chosen getup.  27% said they are not confident in their chosen outfit and one third said they are worried about getting chatted up by someone they aren't interested in. 22% also worry that they'll feel embarrassed over arriving at a party alone.

Having their boss there also means a lot of women can't relax into the night. 21% felt they couldn't relax due to the boss being present and 20% dreaded feeling rough the next day.

Another bug-bear is having to spend even more time with work colleagues after an 8 hour day with them already.
