This article is brought to you by James Cook University.

Singapore’s economic landscape is changing rapidly. Do you have what it takes to excel?

The working life of a typical adult is getting tougher by the day. The demands of the workplace are compounded by new challenges under mitigating circumstances.

The past 50 years have seen Singapore’s meteoric rise from a basic manufacturing base to a world-class financial centre and service economy, but the challenges for the next 50 years will be quite different. As the economy transforms itself, new skills and jobs will be needed. To keep up with the job demands of the future, equipping oneself with various skills is key.

James Cook University understands the multivariate needs of individuals and of the economy.

Aligning with the government’s SkillsFuture Initiative and call for lifelong learning, it has adapted modules from its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and derived a suite of professional development courses to prepare professionals for the skills and jobs of the future.

The courses cover a range of topics such as accounting and finance for managers; innovation and entrepreneurship; game design and technology; personal portfolio management; and interactive marketing, among others.
