All employees in HK airport's restricted area must finish two doses of vaccine by 1 August

All airport staff entering Hong Kong airport's restricted area are required to present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, starting 1 August 2021.

This announcement was made by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) this week, aiming to further increase the protection of airport staff, passengers and other airport users at Hong Kong International Airport.

Under the new measure, staff will be required to have received two doses of vaccination 14 days before entering the airport restricted area. Alternatively, staff can also present proof of negative test results effective at the time in order to enter the airport restricted area.

On 23 June, the Department of Health disclosed a preliminary positive local COVID-19 case from an unknown source involving the L452R mutant strain, and the 27-year-old patient works as an airline ground crew staff member at Hong Kong International Airport. The CHP's epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the above case are ongoing.
