400多名員工在兩分鐘的Zoom會議期間被裁

電動滑板車公司Bird透過Zoom會議解僱三成員工,400多名員工受影響。

早前,共406名Bird的員工獲通知參與一場名為「COVID-19更新」的Zoom會議,據報指該公司在會上透過錄音通知員工被裁的消息。

HR Grapevine網站報導錄音聲明內容:「這並非傳遞這種訊息的一個好方法。……新型冠狀病毒疫情也對我們的業務造成巨大影響,管理層和董事會被迫作出許多極其困難和痛苦的決定,其中一個決定是削減公司多個職位,你的職位不幸地受到今次決定影響,4月3日(星期五)將是你在Bird的最後工作日。」

該Zoom會議原定為30分鐘,但據報指最終僅開會2分鐘便結束,而且並非如預期般由該公司的行政總裁Travis Vanderzanden主持會議,而是由一位身份不明的女性讀出聲明。

該公司作出聲明後,當時正在休年假、不清楚狀況的員工無法登入他們的工作電腦,許多人通過傳媒報導才知自己被裁。

意識到向員工公佈此消息的方式或者考慮不周,Vanderzanden後來表示這種處理方式「不理想」。

Bird的員工並非唯一透過這種方式被解僱的一群,據報指Cineworld的員工是透過Twitter知道自己被裁
