What’s new in global talent management?

Top performing organisations that consistently attract and nurture talent with the right capabilities, character and cultural fit are those that implement solid talent management strategies.

Their principles and practices in finding and managing talent will be revealed at Talent Management Asia 2016, an annual two-day conference in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in March 2016 for business leaders and senior HR executives responsible for human capital strategy.

“With globalisation, HR practitioners face the challenge of establishing a strong talent pipeline, and there is higher pressure for organisations that are seeking talent overseas,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine.

“This is why the industry’s brightest minds will be at Talent Management Asia 2016 to demonstrate how successful companies address the changing workforce demographics and lifestyle needs and preference both in local and global markets.”

Now in its 4th year, Talent Management Asia will explore the most pressing issues organisations and HR practitioners are currently facing today. Here is how one of the topics, global talent management, will be presented at the event.

Opening one of the programs is a talk on the increasingly global nature of HR and how it is reshaping the operations and objectives of many companies in the region. The most significant issues in talent globalisation and the future of HR, particularly in the Asian/APAC market, will be examined. What company leaders, especially the CEO, think of HR as one of the catalysts of the overall business strategy will also be revealed.

A keynote address will highlight the success story of a CEO in engaging and empowering HR to contribute to business objectives. Other emerging trends to be explored are the competition between SME employers and MNCs for attracting talent and the development of an effective change management and organization effectiveness framework.

Another welcome address will look into the state of globalisation in the Asian market. The topic will touch subject matters related to overseas expansion, talent mobility and expatriate assignments. A panel discussion on setting up a change management model to align with organisational goals will be held.

The list of companies participating in the Talent Management Asia 2016 agenda is continuously growing, and among the top ones are Abbvie, Archroma, Emerio, Mitsubishi and Schneider Electric.
