Currently the company's General Counsel, Louise Pender has been appointed by online fashion retailer, Zalora as Chief People Officer.
In the new role as CPO, she is responsible for overseeing the People and Culture teams across all Zalora's markets, and leads all HR functions, including talent acquisition, talent development, ensuring diversity and inclusion, compensation and employment best practices, workforce planning and strategic business partnering. She reports to the CEO, Gunjan Soni.
She will concurrently head the Legal and Sustainability team, in her existing role as Zalora's General Counsel.

She credited Louise with having championed a number of people initiatives since joining Zalora in March 2016, including diversity and inclusion.
"Developing a workplace culture where people feel valued and appreciated has always been a priority for us, and today’s appointment is testament to that commitment," she added.
Louise brings over 20 years experience providing legal and business advice across three continents, as well as in change management and organisational development. Her previous work includes senior roles at United Group Services and Siemens in Australia, Gate Group Holdings in Switzerland, and Gate Gourmet Inc in the USA.
Louise qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor at the High Court of New Zealand in 1997, and was subsequently admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia in 2003. She was later admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2013.
