In her new role, Shagun serves as the talent partner for three business pillars: customer development, supply chain, and digital.
Experienced HR leader Shagun Agrawal (pictured) has joined Unilever International as a Senior Global HRBP for Customer Development, Supply Chain, and Digital – Future of Work Lead effective 1 October 2025.
In this role, based in Singapore, she reports to the CHRO of Unilever International, and is part of the global HR leadership team. She plays a critical role as talent partner for three business pillars, namely:
- Customer development (the growth engine),
- Supply chain (the backbone of growth), and
- Digital (the technology driver).
As part of her key responsibilities, Shagun focuses on shaping talent strategy, organisational effectiveness, and future-ready capabilities that enable the above teams to deliver sustainable growth.
Sharing the update exclusively with HRO, Shagun looks forward to influencing Unilever International’s people strategy by ensuring that talent and capability building are at the heart of business growth.
"This means co-creating leadership pipelines, accelerating digital and future-of-work readiness, and driving inclusion and engagement globally. My approach is to be both data-led and human-centered — combining insights with empathy to build a workforce that is agile, resilient, and inspired," she says.
She also shared some of the challenges she is hoping to tackle as she settles into her role, saying that navigating the complexities of a truly global business that is constantly entering new markets and channels, whilst keeping the employee experience seamless is no easy feat.
Another is ensuring talent and leadership development keeps pace with business ambition.
"I am preparing by leveraging my cross-market HR experience, building strong partnerships with business leaders, and creating frameworks that balance global consistency with local adaptability."
When asked what kind of culture she aims to foster within her HR team going forward, Shagun said:
"I aim to foster a culture that is inclusive, collaborative, and future-focused. A culture of curiosity, experimentation, and learning will ensure we stay ahead of the curve and continuously add value to both the business and our people."
Shagun was previously Regional Head of HR, Asia Pacific & ANZ at Tata Communications, where she led people strategy across diverse markets and supported business transformation, leadership effectiveness, and employee experience. She has also tenured with Rohde & Schwarz, Gap Inc, and Moody's Corporation.
