Based in the US, she brings more than 20 years of experience to the role at the full-stack insurance company.

Ohio-headquartered Branch, a full-stack insurance company, has appointed its first ever Chief People Officer, Pratiksha Patel (pictured above). In this role, she looks forward to help evolve the insurtech unicorn's environment and People function.

The appointment, announced in November 2022, sees Patel bringing more than 20 years of experience across companies such as L'Oreal, McKinsey & Company, CB Insights, and Gilt.

On her most recent role, Patel was Senior VP of People at CB Insights, where she counselled leaders on change management, built a data-driven talent acquisition function, and embedded values-driven, equitable, and inclusive practices into People programmes. In her role at McKinsey & Company, she was credited for her role in improving customer outcomes, organisational velocity, and talent engagement.

"Pratiksha is an incredible addition to the Branch culture, something we've been intentional about creating since day one," said Branch co-founder and CTO Joe Emison. "Her warmth, experience, and eagerness to help evolve the Branch environment and People functions are already felt by the team and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her."

Patel's diverse work experiences have enabled her to focus on cultural cohesion, and on programmes that resonate with progressive ways of working and drivers of employee engagement. This is expected to be highly relevant to Branch's culture-driven, remote-first model.

On the role, Patel shared: "What's particularly great about Branch is the high alignment between the communal origin of insurance and what it takes to foster an environment that is an amazing place to grow and have an impact."

Branch was launched in 2019 by insurance veteran Steve Lekas and tech entrepreneur Joe Emison. As the company is working to become available US-wide in the coming months, hiring is open across all areas of the business.
