Up the ranks: Betty Lam helms people agenda for DBS Hong Kong as MD, Head of HR

She will work closely with the management team to progress the strategic people agenda and create an inclusive and rewarding workplace for the bank.

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) has appointed Betty Lam as Managing Director, Head of Human Resources, Hong Kong (featured above). She will also join as member of the DBS Hong Kong Management Committee.

As Head of Human Resources, Lam will work closely with the management team to progress the strategic people agenda and create an inclusive and rewarding workplace for a more future-ready, innovative and agile workforce for the bank.

Before joining DBS, Lam was at HSBC - as Regional Head of Human Resources, Retail Banking & Wealth Management, Asia Pacific from 2014 to 2015 and then Head of Human Resources, Hong Kong from 2015 to 2022. In these roles, she was responsible for the overall people strategy as well as talent and employment programmes. Prior to HSBC, she has held a number of senior HR positions, such as at AIA, PepsiCo, and Citi.

Commenting on the appointment, Sebastian Paredes, Chief Executive Officer of DBS (Hong Kong), stated: "I am delighted to welcome Betty to the Bank. With a career in HR that spans more than two decades, she brings invaluable insight and solid experience in leading our employees as we continue to embrace the future of work, workforce and workplace."

Headquartered and listed in Singapore, DBS is present in 18 markets, including the three Asian axes of growth: Greater China, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
