Two new national Continuing Education and Training (CET) campuses will be fully functional in the second half of this year to provide learning opportunities to around 50,000 workers annually.
Located in Paya Lebar and Jurong, the centres will “serve as gateways for our workforce to access a wide variety of in-demand skills training and relevant upgrading programmes”, its website said.
Both campuses, which fall under Singapore’s Workforce Development Agency (WDA), will also serve as one-stop centres for career coaching, training, assessment and career services.
WDA’s website said the organisation envisions the CET campuses to be “a vibrant habitat for continuing education and training where our workforce upgrade their skills, employers fulfil their manpower needs and training providers synergise to deliver best-in-class training.”
Both campuses will be able to accommodate 20 tenants, and will be fitted with modern facilities to support adult learning, including flexible event halls, learning pods, training rooms and a tiered lecture theatre.
The CET campuses come at a great time for the local workforce, as a recent report by Cegos found 89% of locals are dissatisfied with training opportunities here.
